Molybdenum disilicide rod is a high-temperature and anti-oxidation resistance heating element made based on molybdenum disilicide. Its core characteristics are as follows:

1. Chemical properties:

In an oxidizing atmosphere, a bright and dense quartz (SiO ₂) glass film is formed on the surface. When the temperature of the component exceeds 1700 ℃ and the SiO ₂ protective layer with a melting point of 1710 ℃ melts, due to the surface tension, SiO ₂ melts into droplets and loses its protective effect. When the component is used again in an oxidizing atmosphere, the SiO ₂ protective layer is regenerated. It must be pointed out that the components should not be used for a long time in the range of 400-700 ℃, otherwise the components will pulverize due to strong oxidation at low temperatures.

2. Physical properties:

Density 5.5~5.6g/cm ³, flexural strength 15MPa, Vickers hardness 570kg/mm ², thermal elongation rate 4%;

3. Resistance characteristics:

The resistance increases rapidly with temperature, but remains constant when the temperature stabilizes; Resistors do not age over time, so new and old components can be mixed together.

4. Attention:

Avoid using in low-temperature oxidation environments of 400~700 ℃, otherwise it is prone to powdering; Reasonable selection of surface load is necessary to avoid component breakage caused by overload.
